The candidates with 16-year non-business education [BE, MBBS, MA, M.Sc., and other equivalent qualifications from a recognized university/institution] will be required to qualify at least 36-credit hours of deficiency business courses before they could become eligible for admission towards MBA (equivalent to MS)/MS in Business Administration program.
Admission Eligibility Criteria
Candidate having 16-year non-business education [BE, MBBS, MA, M.Sc., and other equivalent qualifications from a recognized university/institution] with at least Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.50 out of 4/ 1st division, wherein GPA system is not implemented, are eligible to apply.
Course(s) exemption is available.
- Candidate is not required to apply separately for exemption of deficiency course(s).
- The concerned department evaluates and marks exemption of course(s) of the students, as per policy.
It is a one-year duration program that comprises two semesters. Each semester has 18 weeks duration.

Assessment of Study Progress
The evaluation of students’ study progress for deficiency courses is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving assignments, on-line quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards, mid-term and final-term examinations. The mid-term and final-term exams are conducted at VU’s designated exam centers and usually count 80 to 85% of the total marks of a course.
Completion of Deficiency Semesters
To qualify Deficiency Semester Courses, students are required to complete course work program of at least 36 credit hours course work with minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.
Upon successful completion students will be eligible to apply for admission towards MSBA / MBA (Eq. to MS).
Candidate having 16-year non-business education (not availed course exemption) after completion of prescribed deficiency courses (2-semesters) with at least CGPA 2.00 out of 4 would be eligible to apply for award of Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies against the payment of prescribed diploma fee.

The courses may be revised from time to time as a result of continuous review to bring them at par with courses being taught at top-class foreign universities. While reviewing the courses, needs of local industry and job market are also given full consideration.
