Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) commemorated its 12th convocation for the students of the Sindh region at a local hotel in Karachi. A total of 535 students were conferred degrees for the successful completion of various degree programs. Out of which 318 were bachelors, 192 were masters and 25 were MPhil graduates. A total of 12 gold medals and 26 merit certificates were also awarded to the outstanding graduates.

Minister of State/ Special Assistant to PM for IT & Telecommunication Mr. Sadiq Iftikhar, was the chief guest of the occasion.

Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem, Rector VUP, welcomed the guests and thanked the respected parents for gracing the event with their presence. In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti, Rector of Virtual University highlighted the achievements of Virtual University and its important role in imparting technology-based quality education to remote areas of the country. He advised the students to always respect their parents. Rector Virtual University along with the Chief Guest also distributed degrees to all the graduates. The convocation was attended by many dignitaries, faculty, staff, students, and their parents.

Dr. Arshad highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology-based education, and its contribution to the provision of quality education even to the remotest areas of the country. He said VU is promoting a research culture among its students.

On this occasion, Minister of State Mr. Sadiq Iftikhar praised the Virtual University of Pakistan for its efforts in providing quality education.
