Prof. Dr. Hafiz Abdul Basit Khan is a distinguished Pakistani scholar of Islamic Studies, currently serving as Professor at the Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of the Punjab, Lahore. He earned his PhD in Islamic Studies from the University of the Punjab and has a strong academic foundation complemented by an LL.B. degree and advanced traditional Islamic scholarship (Shahadah al-‘Aalamiyyah) from Jamia Ashrafia. With over two decades of teaching and research experience, he has served the same institution in various academic ranks, including Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor. Prof. Dr. Hafiz Abdul Basit Khan specializes in Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Hadith studies, and contemporary Islamic issues, with a particular focus on applying classical principles to modern socio-economic challenges. He has authored multiple scholarly books and published a large number of research papers in HEC-recognized journals. His research contributions cover diverse areas such as Islamic finance, bioethics, contemporary jurisprudence, and Hadith methodology. In addition to his teaching and research, he has supervised numerous PhD and M.Phil theses and evaluated academic work for leading universities across Pakistan.
