Admission to MCS PROGRAM FOR VU GRADUATES

 

   (a) BS (Business Administration)
   (b) BS (Public Administration)
   (c) BS (Commerce)
   (d) BS (Psychology)
   (e) BS (Mass Communication)
   (f) BS (Accounting & Finance)
   (g) MBA (Master of Business Administration)

 

1). Admission to MCS Program with BS in Business Administration/ BS in   Public Administration /BS in Commerce/BS in Psychology/BS in Mass Communication.

 

Eligibility: BS in Business Administration/BS (Public Administration)/ BS (Commerce)/BS (Psychology)/BS (Mass Communication) from VU with minimum CGPA 2.25.

 

Award of Degree: Minimum four semesters, at least 66 credit hours with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.30. 

 

Course Exemptions: Following courses, if already qualified by the candidates holding BS in Business Administration / BS in Public Administration / BS in Commerce/BS in Psychology/BS in Mass Communication from VU are exempted towards MCS program.

Project: Students are required to complete a project of 6 credit hours in the final year of their MCS program. The choice of the final project is at the student’s discretion. However, consultation with the student advisor is compulsory. Students have to submit a detailed write-up of the project and in some cases may be required to give a presentation.

 

 

(2).       Admission to MCS Program with BS in Accounting & Finance

 

Eligibility: BS in Accounting & Finance from Virtual University of Pakistan with minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.25.

 

Award of Degree: Minimum four semesters, at least 63 credit hours with minimum CGPA 2.30. 

 

Course Exemption: Following courses if already qualified by the candidates holding BS in Accounting & Finance from VU are exempted towards MCS program.

(3).       Admission to MCS Program with MBA.

 

Eligibility: Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Virtual University of Pakistan within minimum CGPA 2.30.

 

Award of Degree: Minimum four semesters, at least 72 credit hours with minimum CGPA 2.30. 

 

Scheme of Study: The candidates are required to complete the following MCS courses along with any course (s) not exempted from the above list. Any qualified VU course (s) from the following list will be exempted provided such candidate completes at least 50 % MCS course work.

FEE STRUCTURE TOWARDS MCS PROGRAM: For VU graduates holding BS (Business Administration)/BS (Public Administration)/BS (Commerce)/ BS (Psychology) / BS (Mass Communication); BS (Accounting& Finance); and Master of Business Administration are to be decided by the Finance Department.
