RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interests lie at the intersection of Computer Networks, Cybersecurity, Blockchain Technology, Digital Media, Content Distribution Networks, and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). My academic and professional background in computer science, telecommunications, networking, broadcast engineering, and digital media provides a multidisciplinary foundation for investigating security and content-management challenges in emerging digital platforms.
I hold an M.Phil. in Computer Science with specialization in Computer Networks and Communication , along with a B.E. in Telecommunication Engineering and a DAE in Electronics . I am currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science , with research focused on Content Distribution Networks and cybersecurity threats associated with Video NFTs and digital assets . My research aims to address security challenges that arise when digital media ownership, distribution, monetization, and access control are managed through decentralized technologies.
A major area of my research is blockchain and smart-contract security , particularly the protection of NFT ownership, digital assets, and royalty mechanisms. My research investigates vulnerabilities in NFT smart contracts, including reentrancy attacks, unauthorized state changes, ownership inconsistencies, payment-state vulnerabilities, and security issues associated with ERC-721 token operations . Particular attention is given to the interaction between smart contracts and external contracts, including callback mechanisms that can introduce reentrant execution. The research evaluates security through controlled smart-contract versions and formally defined security properties, with the objective of developing practical and verifiable mechanisms for protecting digital ownership and financial states.
Another important research interest is security and Digital Rights Management (DRM) for multimedia and Video NFTs . Conventional DRM approaches are generally designed for centralized platforms, whereas Web3 environments require mechanisms capable of protecting digital content while maintaining decentralized ownership and verification. My research therefore explores techniques for combining artificial intelligence, selective encryption, watermarking, blockchain, and decentralized storage to protect digital media.
My recent research focuses on ROI-Based Selective Encryption for NFT Media Protection using a hybrid Vision Transformer (ViT) and Mask R-CNN approach . The objective is to identify semantically important regions of digital media and protect those regions through selective encryption rather than encrypting the complete media content. This approach investigates the use of Mask R-CNN for object and region segmentation and Vision Transformers for contextual and semantic importance analysis . Selective encryption can potentially reduce computational requirements while maintaining protection for sensitive or valuable visual information. Transform-domain watermarking and blockchain-based mechanisms are also relevant to this research for establishing content authenticity, ownership evidence, and copyright protection.
I am also interested in secure content distribution and multimedia security . My professional experience in television broadcasting, Media Asset Management (MAM), video encoding, transmission, web streaming, and educational content distribution provides practical insight into the challenges of managing large-scale digital media. Research in this area includes secure video distribution, multimedia protection, video encryption, streaming security, digital repositories, and the integration of cybersecurity mechanisms into content-distribution infrastructures.
Another research direction is the application of cybersecurity techniques to blockchain and digital-media ecosystems . This includes the investigation of secure authentication, identity management, access control, threat detection, and protection against cyberattacks. Research interests also include security frameworks based on technologies such as X.509, intrusion and threat detection mechanisms, secure distributed systems, and security monitoring architectures .
The broader objective of my research is to develop secure, efficient, and verifiable mechanisms for digital content ownership and distribution . This includes combining formal security analysis with practical experimentation so that proposed solutions can be evaluated not only theoretically but also through implementation and measurable performance. Areas such as smart-contract verification, blockchain-based copyright protection, decentralized DRM, secure NFT ownership, multimedia encryption, watermarking, and AI-assisted content protection provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research.
My professional experience in broadcast engineering and digital content management complements my academic research by providing practical understanding of how digital content is produced, stored, processed, distributed, and streamed. This combination of academic research and practical technical experience supports research aimed at addressing real-world security challenges in digital education, multimedia broadcasting, Web3 platforms, and decentralized content-distribution systems .
Overall, my research interest is directed toward developing cybersecure and intelligent digital-media ecosystems in which ownership, authenticity, copyright, access, and distribution can be protected using blockchain, artificial intelligence, cryptographic techniques, formal security methods, and secure networking technologies. The long-term goal is to contribute research that bridges computer networks, cybersecurity, blockchain, AI, multimedia processing, and digital content distribution to address emerging security challenges in decentralized digital media.
