ADMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
[FALL 2025]
- WHO CAN APPLY FOR ADMISSION:
The applicants who fulfill the minimum prescribed admission requirements for the particular study program as published at VU website. Such applicants must have the following:

- Valid CNIC / B Form number (scanned copy not mobile photo)
- Valid Email address (Preferably applicant’s own)
- Cell Phone number (Preferably applicant’s own)
- Photographs of applicant (Passport Size with Blue Background scanned not mobile photo)
- Scanned copies of the educational documents with clear readability (not mobile photo).
- Equivalence Certificate from IBCC or HEC in case the applicant having A / O Level Certificates or Foreign Degrees as applicable.
- Course Contents, original NOC from Previous Institute/University and original Incomplete Result Card (Only for the applicants who are seeking admission on the basis of credit transfer/course exemption through General Route based on the Incomplete Bachelor’s Result Card).
- Admissions to the Foreign or Dual National students will be offered after completing necessary codal formalities / confirmation from the respective offices (HEC, vetting agencies). Such applicants may visit VU website link https://www.vu.edu.pk/pages/AdmissionForeign.aspx for detailed information and necessary documentations to be provided to the University.
- GENERAL INFORMATION
- Admissions will open according to the published admission schedule.
- Applicants are advised to enter their correct CNIC number(s) when filling out the Registration form during "SIGN UP" to avoid rejection of the admission form.
- Admission forms submitted after the due date will not be accepted.
- Documents must be uploaded in the Registration Interface according to the given instructions.
- Incomplete admission forms will be rejected. Carefully upload readable, complete sets of documents to avoid any inconvenience.
- If a candidate is already enrolled at VU and their admission status is regular/inactive, they must cancel their old admission before applying for a new admission or marking pass out.
- Applicants should deposit the admission fee for one admission form only. If an applicant submits fees for multiple programs, the University is authorized to cancel one or all admissions and confiscate the deposited fees.
- Applicants must provide accurate information without concealing any facts.
- The University will blacklist and confiscate the fee/degree at any time if false information or bogus documents are found in the admission form.
- The University reserves the right to disregard admissions for applicants with incomplete admission forms or those who have paid the admission form fee/dues after the due date.
- RESULT AWAITING APPLICANTS (HSSC/Intermediate):

- Result awaiting applicants (HSSC/Intermediate – Board of Intermediate & secondary Education) may apply for admissions based on their Part-I result card of the HSSC/Intermediate, under the following condition:
- At least 45% marks in Part-I (HSSC/intermediate) for ADP/BS programs except ADP/BS Computing programs (e.g. BSCS/IT/SE/BSDS etc.).
- For ADP/BSIT/BSCS/BSSE/BSDS computing programs applicant must have at least 50% marks in Part-I with subjects specified in the admission eligibility criteria.
- Such applicants will be admitted provisionally and must upload and provide their Part-II and final results in the LMS/Registration by the announced date. Failure to provide or upload the Part-II/Final Result card will result in the cancellation of the applicant’s admission, and the fee will be refunded according to university policy.
- Additionally, such applicants must submit the following documents at the nearest Virtual University Campus or courier them directly to the Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Sir Syed Memorial Building, G-5/1, Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad, on or before the commencement of classes (October 06, 2025):
- Attested copies of Educational Documents (two sets).
- Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) two copies.
- Two Passport Size Photographs with blue back ground.
- Equivalence Certificates etc. (If applicable in case of A/O level)
NOTE: In case, successful/selected Result Awaiting Students fails to submit the above-mentioned documents within the stipulated time frame then the University may block student’s Learning Management System (LMS) OR permanently cancel student’s enrolment.
- INFORMATION FOR MERIT BASED PROGRAMS
- For MSCS and MBA (Equ. to MS) programs each candidate is required to pass the Virtual University’s Entry Test (with minimum 50% marks) and Interview. Limited seats on the merit basis.
- The merit list of the successful candidates will be published at VU website on the prescribed admission schedule dates.
- Successful candidate will deposit the fee within the prescribed date.

MSCS/MBA (Equ. to MS), BS Bioinformatics, Biotechnology and Zoology, Diploma in Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics Programs are NOT AVAILABLE FOR OVERSEAS APPLICANT.
Zero Semester is not applicable on the following Programs:
MS Computer Science/MBA (Eqe.to MS), BS English (Applied Linguistics), Diploma in Linguistics, Diploma in English Language Teaching (ELT)., BS Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, BS Data Science, ADP Computer Networking, Database Management System, Web Design and Development, Computer Science, ADP Education, BS Bioinformatics, BS Biotechnology, BS Zoology, BS Mathematics, Diploma in Molecular Biology, Diploma in Bioinformatics.
- COURSE EXEMPTION:
a). General Route
The applicants of the below category can apply for Course Exemption through general route:

- Applicant(s) intend to apply for Course Exemptions based on already qualified courses or Incomplete Degree/Diploma/Certificate from VU; subsequent to admission eligibility of the desired program; qualified within last five years.
- Applicants studying at any HEC recognized University/Institute and intend to transfer/exempt their qualified courses towards Virtual University of Pakistan.
NOTE: The applicants applying for Course Exemptions through General Route are required to submit Course Exemption Proforma in Hard Copy filled at the time of filling admission form along with original NOC, Original Incomplete transcript issued by the concerned authority of the University/Institute and Course Content of qualified courses.
- BS Lateral Entry (Admission into BS Program)
- The applicants who have completed Associate Degree/Bachelor’s degree e.g. BA/B.Sc./B. Com, Associate Degree and BS degree programs may apply for admission through BS Lateral Route option. However, such applicants shall meet the minimum prescribed admission eligibility criteria of the respective BS Program.
- The applicants applying to the relevant BS program after the completion of ADP will directly go to the 5th Semester after determining the relevancy.
- The applicant after the completion of ADP applies to the different BS program, first has to pass the bridging semester before going to the 5th Semester through the lateral entry route.
- The applicant after the completion of BA/B.Sc. applies to the BS program, first has to pass the bridging semester before going to the 5th semester through the lateral entry route.

- Decision of the Equivalence Committee will be communicated to applicants via email.
- Such applicants should pay the admission fee voucher after the decision of their BS Entry Route exemption application.
- SUBMISSION OF HARD COPY DOCUEMENTS BY THE PROVISIONALLY ADMITTED STUDENTS:
- Provisionally admitted students shall submit hard copy of their documents at the nearest Virtual University campus/Office or directly courier the documents to the Registrar’s Office /Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Sir Syed Memorial Building, G-5/1, Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad OR Virtual University of Pakistan, M.A. Jinnah Campus, Defence Road, Off Raiwind Road, Lahore.
- Provisionally admitted students will be responsible for submitting the following documents before the commencement of mid semester Examinations- Fall 2025:
- Attested copies of Educational Documents (two sets).
- Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or B-Form two copies.
- Two Passport Size Photographs with blue back ground.
- Equivalence Certificates etc. (If applicable in case of A/O level)
- ADP/BA/BSc. transcript/result card (two copies) as applicable
- BS/Master transcript/result card (two copies) as applicable
NOTE:
- The University reserves the right to block or cancel admission of the provisionally admitted students who failed to submit hard copy of the admission form along with requisite documents.
