Important Announcement – HEC Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme 2025

Dear Students,

We are pleased to inform you that students of the Virtual University of Pakistan are now eligible to apply for the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme 2025, launched by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) under the umbrella of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program.

To ensure a smooth application process and avoid rejection due to incorrect information, all students are advised to carefully read and follow the instructions outlined below:

Step-by-Step Application Submission Guideline:

1. Check Your Eligibility:

Before proceeding with the application, review the official eligibility criteria available at the following link: https://laptop.pmyp.gov.pk/eligibility_criteria.php

2. Apply Online:

Eligible students can submit their applications via the HEC official portal:

https://laptop.pmyp.gov.pk/index.php

3. University Selection on the Portal:

All students of VU residing anywhere in Pakistan will select Virtual University of Pakistan, Lahore – Main Campus from the list of institutions. This is essential as Virtual University operates under a centralized enrollment system.

4. Department and Degree Program:

Select your respective Academic Department and degree program (i.e. BS (Hons.) or MS/MPhil). Details of departments and offered study programs are available on VU’s website www.vu.edu.pk under Academics Tab.

5. Enrollment Number:

Use your VU Registration Number (e.g., 000-VU-000000) as your Enrollment Number, exactly as shown in your VU-LMS/Student Profile.

6. Ensure Data Accuracy:

All information entered must match exactly with your VULMS/Student Profile as per VU record (e.g., name, CNIC, registration number, etc.).

7. Special Instructions for Course Exemption/Entry Route Students:

If you were admitted through the Course Exemption or BS Entry Route, mention your actual admission date and semester as per your VULMS profile/attended at VU. (Example: If you joined in Spring 2025, that would be your 1^st semester.)

8. Enter Effective CGPA:

Provide your Effective CGPA from your current VULMS profile (if applicable).

Note: For any clarifications or assistance during the application process, please contact your respective departmental focal person. Incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected, so please ensure the accuracy of all submitted information.
