Dr. Akhtar Ali, Associate Professor of Biotechnology at the Department of Biological Sciences, Virtual University of Pakistan, visited China from October 14–18, 2026, to participate in the 6th Exchange Mechanism Conference of the CPEC Consortium of Universities at Harbin Engineering University and attend a collaboration meeting in Wuhan.

Held on October 15, the conference brought together representatives of Pakistani and Chinese universities and research institutions to discuss cooperation in higher education, joint research, innovation, and talent development. Discussions also covered biotechnology, agriculture, and food security, among other research areas.

The visit also included a meeting in Wuhan focused on collaboration. These engagements offer potential avenues for Virtual University of Pakistan to explore international research partnerships, strengthen academic cooperation, and develop linkages with relevant research institutions and industry.
