Overseas Examination Guidelines and Demo Test Schedule - Spring 2023 Mid-Term

OVERSEAS EXAMINATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

DATESHEET

 

The timings mentioned on the datesheet are according to Pakistan Standard Time. The procedure to make a datesheet is available at the following link https://www.vu.edu.pk/NewsDetails.aspx?type=&NewsId=8797

 

TRAVEL NOTICE

 

Students traveling to Pakistan for exams must notify the exam department one week before departure at overseasexams@vu.edu.pk and datesheet@vu.edu.pk. Physical attendance at a local exam center is required; online exams are not allowed in Pakistan. Failure to notify or comply may result in exam scheduling issues.

 

EXAM APPLICATION AND PRE-REQUISITE

 

Overseas Exam Software and related materials have been made available for download. Please make sure to install the latest exam application available on the link given below. Students must follow the sequence of instructions given below for smooth and error-free installation:

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:
 

  • Use a personal Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) system.
  • Do not use an office Windows system or an internet connection with administrator restrictions/policies.
  • Ensure internet connection is stable.
  • Set the default language on system to English (United States).
  • Uninstall any antivirus software and remote-control applications, except for TeamViewer.
  • A MAC user (i.e. having an intel processor), may dual boot the MAC with the official Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit version) OS by following the instructions provided in this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468
  • Use of third-party virtual machine software is strictly prohibited.

 

 

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

Download and install the required software and exam application on a Windows system from https://qb.vu.edu.pk. Watch the video tutorial for further guidance at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WdoybnLShU

 

  • icrosoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) version 11.0.61030 
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) version 14.0.24123
  • VUTES Overseas 2.1 (updated)
  • TeamViewer (Latest Version)
  • IRIUN Application https://iriun.com/ (Student may use phone's camera as a wireless webcam)

 

 

FOR DEMO TEST

 

An icon of VUTES will be visible on their desktop after the installation of the VUTES exam application. Please double-click the icon to run the demo test. Use the student ID as a login and password for logging into the exam application to take a demo test. For example,

 

      • Login ID: BC2302XXXXX (You Student ID)
      • Password: BC2302XXXXX (You Student ID)

 

A student may test their installation by joining any of the following sessions FROM (May 31, 2023) to (June 8, 2023), during the specified session timings (i.e., as per Pakistan Standard Time) as mentioned below:

 

  • Sessions 1: 07:30 am
  • Sessions 2: 09:00 am
  • Sessions 3: 10:30 am
  • Sessions 4: 12:00 pm
  • Sessions 5: 02:30 pm
  • Sessions 6: 04:00 pm
  • Sessions 7: 05:30 pm
     

After completing the demo test, the student must confirm their installation status by clicking the link “Click here to confirm the installation status” given on https://qb.vu.edu.pk/login.aspx

NOTE:

      • The Login ID and password mentioned on the datesheet will only be accessible during the actual exam time (i.e., according to Pakistan Standard Time).
      • There are no invigilators present during the demo sessions, so there is no need to reply to the messages during the demo.
      • A student can send us their feedback at overseasexams@vu.edu.pk 

DAY OF EXAMINATION:

 

Please observe the following guidelines during the examination:

 

      • Run the VUTES exam application and log in 15 minutes before the actual exam time. For example, login 7:15 AM if paper time is 7:30 AM (Pakistan Standard Time)
         
      • In the chat box share the TeamViewer ID and password with the invigilator for remote monitoring.
         
      • Use at least one external webcam and follow the specified view: https://handbook.vu.edu.pk/HandBook_Pages/PrescribedWebcamView.jpg
         
      • Ensure the system microphone is enabled.
         
      • Attendance will be marked after system inspection by the invigilator.
         
      • Read the Exam and Course-related instructions carefully and attempt the paper within the given time.
