International Eco-Internship 2016

VU and WWF-Pakistan

The Virtual University of Pakistan and WWF-Pakistan is working together for environmental conservation. Keeping in mind the lack of opportunities for young people to get actively involved in environmental conservation WWF-Pakistan has introduced an innovative Eco Internship Programme for students. WWF-Pakistan is now offering this to the students of Virtual University of Pakistan.

Objectives of the Programme are to:

• Enable the students to generate an insight into the eco dynamics and the overall challenges to the ecosystem
• Broaden students scope as a responsible custodian of valuable natural resources
• Inculcate and foster civic responsibility in students
• Give opportunity to students to become official Ambassadors of  WWF-Pakistan and solicit support of their parents and families membership for conservation of natural resources of Pakistan
• Develop a sense of responsibility of reducing our ecological footprint
• Inculcate a habit of giving back to nature
• Broaden the base of likeminded individuals who are members of WWF Pakistan.

Additional Incentives to students:

• Certificate and affiliation with WWF-Pakistan, a nationally and globally recognized organization
• Free annual Individual membership of WWF-Pakistan.
• Free access to WWF  Pakistan’s Environmental Library and video centre for one year
• Complimentary passes/invitations to WWF-Pakistan’s annual Events and Campaigns
• Discounts on WWF-Pakistan Eco Travel Tours and Panda Products
• Free WWF-Publications including Natura
• Biweekly update on environmental happenings

Registration Fee:

• Limited seats are available on first come first serve basis
• The registration fee for this programme is Rs.1500 per student (discounted for VU students)

Deadline of Registration:

Monday 30 May, 2016

The interested VU students (from any discipline) should submit the Registration Form and Fee to their Campus Managers before deadline.

Venue and Dates:

VU Conference Hall, M.A. Jinnah Campus, Off Raiwind Road, Lahore.

Dates (3 days) will be announced after completion of Registration process (tentativly after Eid holiday in July)
