OVERSEAS EXAMINATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

Overseas students shall adhere to the rules and regulations for the Overseas Examination from the following link:

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Overseas Exam Software and related materials have been made available for download. Please make sure to install the latest exam application available on the link given below. Students must follow the sequence of instructions given below for smooth and error-free installation:

IMPORTANT NOTE:

• A student must have complete administrative access to their machine (i.e., desktop or Laptop) and use a personal internet connection.
• Do not use an office system and internet connection with administrator restrictions/policies.

1. HARDWARE
    
   1. Core i3 (or above)
   2. 2 GB of Ram (Minimum)
   3. Internet Connection (2 MB Minimum)
   4. One external USB webcam with a built-in microphone, wide lens, and at least a 2-meter-long cable.
      Note: A student may use their mobile as an external webcam with the DROIDCAM app (iOS or Android)

2. OPERATING SYSTEM
    
   1. Use only a Windows 10 (64-bit) system equal to or above version 1909
       
   2. For MAC users the exam application is not compatible with the MAC Operating System. However, a student may Dual Boot their MAC system with a Windows Operating System by following the instructions mentioned in the given link https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468
      Note: Use of Virtual Machine Software is strictly prohibited.
       
   3. Uninstall antivirus applications and disable the windows firewall before installation.
       
   4. System default language MUST be English (United States).
       
   5. No proxy software, VPN software, Virtual Machine software, or remote-control software (except TeamViewer) should be installed or configured on the machine
       (e.g., AmmyAdmin, Remote Desktop Managers, hotspot shield, UltraViewer, VNC viewer, Parallels Access, VMWare, etc.).

3. EXAM APPLICATION AND PRE-REQUISITE SOFTWARES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
   
   Download and install in sequence the following pre-requisite softwares and Exam application on your Windows system from the following link only: https://qb.vu.edu.pk
   1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) version 11.0.61030 
   2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) version 14.0.24123
   3. VUTES Overseas 2.1 (updated)
   4. TeamViewer (Latest Version)
       
       
4. FOR DEMO TEST
   
   An icon of VUTES will be visible on their desktop after the installation of the VUTES exam application. Please double-click the icon to run the demo test.

DEMO TEST SCHEDULE

1. Please use your student ID as a login and password for logging into the exam application to take a demo test only. For example,

• Login ID: BC2202XXXXX
• Password: BC2202XXXXX

2. A student may test their installation by joining any of the following sessions From (June 29, 2022) to (July 14, 2022), during the specified session timings as mentioned below:

• Session 1:      08:00 AM to 09:00 A.M (PST)
• Session 2:      10:00 AM to 11:00 A.M (PST)
• Session 3:      11:30 AM to 12:30 P.M (PST)
• Session 4:      02:30 PM to 03:30 P.M (PST)
• Session 5:      04:00 PM to 05:00 P.M (PST)
• Session 6:      05:30 PM to 06:30 P.M (PST)
• Session 7:      07:00 PM to 08:00 P.M (PST)

3. After completing the demo test, the student must confirm their installation status by clicking the link “Click here to confirm the installation status” given on https://qb.vu.edu.pk/login.aspx

Note:

• The Login ID and password mentioned on the datesheet will only be accessible during the actual exam time (i.e., according to Pakistan Standard Time).
• There are no invigilators present during the demo sessions, so no need to reply to the messages during the demo.
• A student can send us their feedback at overseasexams@vu.edu.pk 
• You must configure your student email on your mobile for regular exam updates.
