VU students get laptops under PM’s laptop scheme

Virtual University of Pakistan held two ceremonies on 28th and 29th September, 2016 at M.A Jinnah Campus to award Laptops to high achievers under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme. 

Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector and Dr. Muhammad Nawaz, Advisor, Virtual University of Pakistan were the Chief Guests for the ceremonies.

Dr. Malik emphasizing the significance of laptop scheme to the audience said that the use of computers will go a long way in acquiring the knowledge amongst the youth promoting research culture in the country. He thanked Ms. Anusha Rahman, Minister of IT and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC for their support and help in the allocation of laptops for the student community of Virtual University of Pakistan.

A total of 510 out of allocation of 2500 laptops are to be bestowed to the students enrolled in MS/M.Phil. programs.

The process of selection of students enrolled in BS and Master Degree Programs is under the process with the HEC. Those students found eligible by the Higher Education Commission under the scheme for this category will be awarded laptops after the publication of the list of successful candidates.
