Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (4 year program)

Introduction

The bachelor's degree program offers a progressive curriculum designed to teach business fundamentals and higher level leadership skills. This specialization in business administration helps you develop the management, interpersonal, and professional skills you need to advance your career. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) is four-year (8 semesters) program and designed for candidates having 12-years education with commerce & business backgrounds specifically, and students from arts & science backgrounds are also eligible to get admission in BS - Business Administration.

Objectives

  1. This program offers a progressive curriculum designed to teach business fundamentals and higher level leadership skills, and equip students to function more effectively in a business-driven economy.

  2. This program will enable students to learn how businesses fit into the broader economic landscape and gain insight into key business functions, such as accounting, finance, operations, and marketing, and how they work together to keep an organization running smoothly.

  3. This program will help students to examine how technology and innovation can help organizations develop a sustainable competitive advantage.

Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate (12 years of education)/ A- Level or equivalent qualification with at-least 45% marks

Note:

  1. Candidates having ‘A’ level or Deeni Asnad or foreign qualification are required to provide equivalence certificate from IBCC or HEC, Islamabad as applicable.

  2. Candidates having less than 45% marks in Intermediate or equivalent qualification will be eligible for admission after the successful completion of “Zero  Semester”.

BS Lateral Entry Route

Applicants with a 2-year Associate Degree in the same discipline (from an HEC-recognized institution) will be able to join the 5th semester of a BS program. Those with an Associate Degree in a different discipline or a conventional BA/BSc degree (annual system) must complete a bridging semester/deficiency semester to address academic deficiencies.

The minimum admission eligibility is a 2.00/4.00 CGPA for Associate Degree holders (semester system) or 45% marks for BA/BSc or equivalent (annual system), along with meeting the University’s general admission criteria based on 12 years of education. The University may set higher standards for specific programs.

Assessment Criteria

The students study progress evaluation mechanism is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving assignments, quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), mid-term and final-term examinations.

Award of Degree

To be eligible for the award BS degree, the students are required to complete prescribed course work of 134 credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 out of 4.

Project / Internship / Practicals

Students are required to complete a Project/ Internship Report in the final semester of their degree program. Students have to submit a detailed write-up of the project and will be required to give a presentation.
Student taking Internship course are required to complete 6 to 8 weeks internship in the organization and shall get internship letter from the concerned organization. The students who are already in service shall be exempted from Internship but required to submit the Project.
