Department of English, Virtual University of Pakistan organized a highly informative session focused on Question Bank (QB) development and its alignment with Bloom's Taxonomy on Monday 4th December, 2023. The event focused on enhancing educators' comprehension of developing robust question repositories, while also emphasizing alignment with Bloom's Taxonomy levels to optimize pedagogical effectiveness.

Mr. Muhammad Abdullah took the stage to deliver a comprehensive presentation on the various levels of Bloom's Taxonomy and their strategic utilization in developing a well-structured question bank. Miss Afsheen Hassan, targeted common flaws found in question banks and proposed effective ways to resolve them. Her presentation emphasized the importance of removing ambiguity, relevance of questions to the text, and fairness in crafting questions, ultimately leading to a more robust assessment tool. A well structured Review Committee’s framework was also suggested by her to conduct the on-going QB review task.

The interactive nature of the session facilitated participants’ discussion and allowed them to share their experiences. The session provided valuable insights into designing questions that engage students at different cognitive levels, promoting critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the subject matter.The Department of English at the Virtual University of Pakistan continues to take initiatives promoting excellence in pedagogy.
