Third Research Training Session on ‘Quantitative Data Analysis’

The Department of English organized a training session titled ‘Quantitative Data Analysis’ in Conference Room at Lawrence Road Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, on December 11, 2023. All the faculty members of the English Department participated in this enlightening session.  Mr. Muhammad Abdullah hosted the session and it started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Hafiz Umair Qayyum.

Dr. Ayesha Sultan (Department of Statistics) delivered an informative and engaging talk that covered various essential aspects of data analysis. She began by elucidating the distinctions between qualitative and quantitative data, providing a comprehensive understanding of the two key types of data. Dr. Ayesha delved into the significance of measurement scales and elucidated the various types of data, shedding light on their respective characteristics and applications. The session was not limited to theoretical concepts, as Dr. Ayesha  seamlessly integrated interesting activities that facilitated a practical understanding of the discussed topics. She also explained diverse data collection methods, offering insights into their strengths and limitations. To enhance the participants' comprehension, she concluded her talk by delving into data visualization techniques, emphasizing the pivotal role they play in conveying complex information effectively. Overall, Dr. Ayesha Sultan's presentation was not only informative but also interactive, ensuring that participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the realm of data analysis.

Faculty members from Sahiwal, Multan, Rawalpindi, and several other campuses actively participated in the session online and displayed a profound level of interest in this activity. This activity signifies a thrilling trajectory of learning and academic advancement. These training sessions are aimed at fostering positive transformations in teaching and professional development. The Department of English will continue to conduct such informational sessions for capacity building of the faculty members.
